The First Time...

Today I tried my new biscicle which I bought yesterday. Yesterday It was raining the whole day and I didn't have time for it.
But today. First I rode down the Erbschlöer Street. And I mean down. For some hundred meters I didn't have to use my legs, only the breaks :) Then I went here and there. And I even managed to come back without having to push the biscicle. But it was a bit exhausting, as I haven't been riding a bike for some years. And when I used to ride the bike it was in nice north Germany and not in mounty Wuppertal...
Lets see whether I can manage to stick to my goal: to use my bike regularry...

It has been some weeks now, but for the first time I have sold something via e-bay. So far I had only bought things every now and then, but now I have sold something. By now, actually, I have sold two things. But both things were for Kay, as he hasn't got an account with e-bay and because he doesn't really like working with computer...

Wisdome teeth

In the mean time I had been a second time to the doctor, so all of my wisdom teeth are extracted now. Unfortunately on the one side of my lower jaw there is a big hole, so that many things are caught in there while eating. And as my tongue isn't able to get there or into it, it is quite annoying. I always have to squirt water into it with a syringe (Spritze).

Now I have to wait for the 7th and last Volume...

Yesterday two wisdom teeth were extracted... I'm still living, but it is a bit annoying only to be able to eat fluid things... Next week the last w-tooth will be extracted, then hopefully it will all be over.

Anthems

Yesterday I had a look through the CD collection in a shop, not really looking for something. But then a CD with National Anthems jumped into my eye. (ouch ;))

Certainly I couldn't leave the shop without the CD. Actually that are two CDs with anthems throughout the world. Altogether there are 48 national anthems on the two CDs (24 each).

I always thought national anthems are supposed to sound majestic and bombastic, so the other countrys can see how very special this nation is, but quite many of the anthems have a quiet or sad sounding melodie. That surprised me.

This recording is done with a brass band and without text. That is a pity. But one couldn't see it from the outside. It didn't mention. But I have a book with the text and the melodie (so without the harmonies). Perhaps I can then sing on my own with the CD. : )

Yesterday I had another organ lesson. I'm having lessons with a catholic organist. And in return he has violin lessons from me.
The organ is a very nice instrument. You can play with different sounds and in a big church with a big organ you can make a big sound!! We usually take it in turns with "our" organs. One lesson we meet in Wuppertal in the ward of my church, the next time we meet in Haan at his church. The last few times though we met in Wuppertal. So yesterday the lesson was again in Haan and I could play on a real organ. The organ in my ward meeting house is only an electronic organ. A fairly good one, but it is different to a mechanical organ. My teacher compared it to writing on a typewriter or a laptop. And then it is quite weird to hear the sound coming from the right or left, from the back or the front of the cupboards with the pipes in.

If I had practiced a bit more (...) I probably would have sounded very good. But unfortunately I made quite some mistakes due to missing coordination of two hands and two feet :§

But next time I will do better, because it is fun to play on a "real" organ! One of my goals is it, to play the famous toccata by bach. But I think it will take me another months... : )

By the way, three days + X to go : )

Today I have an appointment with a butcher. No not a real one, but I have to go to a surgeon who is specialized on the jaw. Fortunately today we will only discuss the case, but I will have to go there again to have three teeth extracted : (

Happy Birthday

It has been quite some time since my last entry.

last Thursday I returned from an orchestra-tripp to Romania. It was quite interesting there, but altogether quite nice. We rehearsed there and gave two concerts there. This evening we are going to play in Wuppertal.

HURRAY!!!!!! Family Sandner has expanded... Friday the 10 th of June at about 1:12 p.m. Vivienne Laura Sandner arrived. She was about 51 cm big and if I remember correctly she weighed about 3600 gr.

As I was in Romania, I unfortunately couldn't visit Amelie and her 2 nd daughter right away, but I will try to do so next week.

By the way, it was again no natural birth... and she has the same things, Felicity has (hip, feet and fingers)... poor girl.
